The United Nations’ Persistent Organic Pollutants Review Committee (POPRC) has adopted the risk profile for methoxychlor.

Next, the Committee will prepare the draft risk management evaluation and then eventually recommend listing the substance as a persistent organic pollutant (POP) under the Stockholm Convention. Listing would mean either a worldwide elimination or a severe restriction of methoxychlor’s production and use.
