Updating the limit values in Annex I of the POPs Regulation
An initiative to amend Annex I of the POPs Regulation is currently under preparation.
This amendment mainly concerns hexachlorobenzene, a substance for which Annex I of the POPs Regulation does not currently set a limit value for its presence as an unintentional trace contaminant in substances, mixtures and articles.
As a reminder, hexachlorobenzene is used in pesticides and is listed in Annex A of the Stockholm Convention (elimination) and in Annex I of the Regulation EU 2019/1021.
