Two amendments of the POP regulation have recently been published in the Official Journal.

The two amendments were adopted in May 2025 and concern the:

• addition of UV-328 to Annex I with specific exemptions (Regulation (EU) 2025/843); and
• extension of the expiry date of the specific exemption for the use of fire-fighting foams (already installed in systems) containing PFOA, its salts and PFOA related substances as well as the setting of new concentration limits for PFOA-related compounds in fire-fighting foams (Regulation (EU) 2025/1399).
