Amendment of Annex I POP Regulation under preparation
The amendment POP Regulation and its Annex I are under preparation.
POP Regulation implement EU’s international commitments under the Stockholm Convention on persistent organic pollutants. Following the decision to add three new substances to the Convention, the initiative will amend Annex I to the Regulation to include:
- UV-328;
- dechlorane plus; and
- methoxychlor.
The draft act will be available soon for consultation phase and with a Commission adoption planned for fourth quarter 2023.
